Layout Lounge

First, DO NOT CHANGE FROM FLEXIBLE SQUARES if you want to use it and are currently using it. You'll lose it unless you are a paid member of LJ.

Okay so I got to thinking about Flexible Squares not being supported and I'm going to work on newer layouts in supported formats but remember Dreamwidth doesn't have Flexible Squares either and we can use it there. It just takes a little finessing. And once my mind got going on that train, we left the station.

So I dug. And so now the dilemma is that you can use Flexible Squares IF you are a PAID member. So to all the free members out there, I'm going to work on some different themed layouts for those who don't want to pay LJ. But for the paid user here is the hoops to jump through.

*sigh* What did they do? I'm not the only one who waited to see what would happen after todays "maintenance". And guess what a friend brought to my attention....

Well, now it isn't working so if you used that coding, I'd delete it if you can't see your journal all of the sudden. It is probably something in my coding but being the suspicious person I am... I find it odd LJ commented to my post to tell me it got so many hits and then the coding broke.

Again, maybe I'm being paranoid... more than likely. I'm looking into the coding and will post again should I figure out the issue. Of course, none of this would be an issue if LJ would just let us change the colors on the bar we see over our Journal's and Communities.

In case you are wondering... I still love Live Journal. I just wish they'd give us a little more freedom of design.

I don't know what LJ is doing but they are making all sorts of issues. As you can see there are numbers popping up on this sidebar. I've never encountered this before but suddenly there they are.

What they are is essentially numbering for a list. It is a long explaination but your links and tags are essentially a bulleted list that has been customized with coding by LJ and layout makers. Now numbers are showing up.

In your coding you might see something like this:
.sbarbody2, li.sbaritem2 { padding: 5px; margin: 0px 0px 0 10px; font-family: "Abel", arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px !important; text-transform: lowercase; text-align: left; } .sbarbody { margin:0; padding: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; }
