Plus, I'm hoping to do some tutorials on how to build a layout and they will need a home.

I'm envious of your talent. I'm a CSS dabbler but don't have anything near your proficiency. Hoping to learn a lot here so the more organization the better!!

That is how I started.

I didn't really know anything so I was using other designers layouts but then I wanted things changed and started figuring out how to make them.

The addon Firebug for Firefox helps a lot because it can tell you want part of the coding needs to be changed. After awhile you'll just know.
