Comment Bar Problems...

So in my support request about this problem, LJ informed me they fixed the problem and yet this issue didn't go away. So I went to s2flexisquares because I wasn't sure the fix I thought I found would work entirely. Thank goodness because fueschgast seriously helped me out but teaching me a new trick. Always good to keep learning even when it seems hard.

There are a few pieces of the coding we need to change the openers to so it goes back to working properly.

We need to change the code opener for #footer, div#footer (in some cases just #footer) to .lj-view-recent #footer, .lj-view-friends #footer
#footer, div#footer { bottom: 10px; padding:5px 0; position:fixed; right:0; text-align:left; text-transform:lowercase; width:100%; z-index:0; }    .lj-view-recent #footer, .lj-view-friends #footer { bottom: 10px; padding:5px 0; position:fixed; right:0; text-align:left; text-transform:lowercase; width:100%; z-index:0; }   

Then we need to change div#footer a, dive#footer a:link to .lj-view-recent #footer a, .lj-view-friends #footer a, .lj-view-recent #footer a:link, .lj-view-friends #footer a:link
div#footer a, div#footer a:link { background-color: #999999; color: #ffffff; font-family: open sans condensed, georgia,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px; padding: 10px; } .lj-view-recent #footer a, .lj-view-friends #footer a, .lj-view-recent #footer a:link, .lj-view-friends #footer a:link { background-color: #999999; color: #ffffff; font-family: open sans condensed, georgia,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 13px; padding: 10px; }

Then we need to change div#footer a:hover to .lj-view-recent #footer a:hover, .lj-view-friends #footer a:hover
div#footer a:hover { color:#FFFFFF; background-color: #34474B; -webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease; -moz-transition: all 0.5s ease; -o-transition: all 0.5s ease; padding-right: 5px; border-left: 4px solid #222222; letter-spacing: 3px; } .lj-view-recent #footer a:hover, .lj-view-friends #footer a:hover { color:#FFFFFF; background-color: #34474B; -webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease; -moz-transition: all 0.5s ease; -o-transition: all 0.5s ease; padding-right: 5px; border-left: 4px solid #222222; letter-spacing: 3px; }

Make sure there is a bracket ({) after the new code openers or it still won't work. And let me know if you are totally stumped by this and I'll do what I can.

Also, I have a feeling this is a problem a lot of people are experiencing so I would appreciate it if you spread the word but clicking the repost below.

No problem. I love it even more than before. What an awesome layout. I'm excited for you and the possibility of making layouts like this in the future. I mean I once thought about a layout with edges like that but never did it... so many possibilities... also... I'm a big fan of Wonderland stuff so cool!

How to use images for links?

I have images for Archive, Friends, Recent, and About... They are two each one for regular and hover. How would I put them in the links as buttons? My email is slee@my.macu.edu if you want the images I could send them.

Go head and upload the images somewhere and then comment with them so I can just use your links. I've never actually done this with the navbar but I have made each link it's own color so I'm guessing I can alter that coding.

I think this has to be done with a paid layer but I'm not positive. I've somewhat accomplished it over at http://workshop-rees.livejournal.com/ but you can still see the text links below which are coming up over the images and I can't get that to stop.

You may be able to accomplish the same thing with text you would just have to embed a font. I think the font you used may not be available though.
