So after talking to someone more advanced, the conclusion is this... LJ broke it. The reason they broke it is because they are still making changes and they are changing the coding. This means my quick fix, got broken. Really this isn't anyones fault because I came to LJ and saw the change and said... icky colors. So I made a fix that wasn't going to last once the coding got change... so maybe a group effort.

Now part of the reason they are still working is to perfect their changes and to clear out any bugs they are working on. Totally makes sense.

I get this as I've worked with mini-updates to websites and you sometimes have to do things in stages.
But I also was told that many of the old layouts will make things look odd. And after checking out the old style.... honestly I'm happy with the new. I know many aren't but the old is just that. I'm all for improvement and most of what LJ has done, hasn't been so bad.

I feel the functionality is still there though I'd like the LJ Nav Menu to be a little less in height. More sleek.

I like when your window shrinks that the COMMUNITY NAV MENU is responsive but it doesn't appear the LJ NAV MENU is but I also haven't been to LJ on a Phone or Tablet. I'm guessing they will work on that.

I know many didn't like the 3 Bar menu button though that is the most common way to shrink a menu in a responsive system.

What I like about the improvements is all the clear information about the Community I'm currenly in and that the bar is the same no matter what part of LJ I'm on.

However, it would be nice if this menu was something that didn't HAVE to be present on every journal.

Now we just need to get LJ to clear out the bugs and I think LJ will work like a dream....

If you are experiencing a bug: REPORT IT.

But I'm really interested to know what you all dislike about the new NAV MENU verses the old? Please be respectible when commenting. Remember I'm not LJ so curses and rants won't get us anywhere. Tell me functionally what you don't appreciate.

Well hopefully LJ has everything sorted out now. At least my problem has gone away. I've had the same layout since 2005 and all I've ever changed was the photo in my layout. Then out of the blue everything at the top of the page was jumbled and on top of each other. It's back to normal today. Yay!

I'm patiently awaiting the finish of the code fixes cos the bar still sits weird on my friends page.

Other than that (hopefully temporary) glitch I really like the new navbar! It's sleek and more intuitive. So I guess this is less a gripe about new vs old and more just ooof LJ finish fixing the coding soon please!

Everything's been good here for me. The new changes are easy for me to understand and no weird glitches that I can tell. Also friendly to my weird vision problems.

I assume I'm working off the old. For the longest time I was on an old IBM Mac, which, as time went by, was supported by less and less, LJ included, so I was staying with whatever worked. At some point, I may try the new layouts. At some point, I may not have a choice.

Responsive themeing can be a headache...

I still have issues with the WYSIWYG editor for posting entries. If I start a new paragraph (shift enter) whenever I next hit delete, it dumps the cursor back to the end of the old paragraph.

Here via Home Page

My page is broken. Put in a support request but they never do anything with those. (At least, that's been my experience.)

I am so sick of LJ. It's like they WANT people to leave.

The formatting on top was all messed up. Colors overlapping text and such. But today it's looking correct for the first time in days. Who knows!

Maybe we all just imagined it or our contacts/glasses were dirty. LOL! Thanks.

From what I've seen and tried out so far, I quite like what they've done with the menu. It seems very clean and organised. Although that means getting used to a different menu once again but I don't think it's going to be a problem.

What I really like is the community menu. That it's so easy to see if you watch it/joined it. That's much better now. And it's great, of course, that the nav menu is the same across all pages.

Hi! Sorry to trouble you, but I hope you can help me. I'm having a bit of trouble with the mass action section on my comments page. It shows at the bottom of the screen all the time, as soon as the comment page opens, even when the page is so long you'll need to scroll to the bottom. So, it's basically right over the text, if only at the bottom of the screen. It's still quite annoying. The thing is, I love the layout and I altered some things to suit my needs, so it would be very troublesome to choose a new layout. Even so, I want the mass action section back at the bottom of the page. Can you tell me which part of the coding makes the display of this section? I tried to figure it out by myself, but it seems that I just can't do it by myself. There must be something I can change in the coding to make it display corretly. Help?
