*sigh* What did they do? I'm not the only one who waited to see what would happen after todays "maintenance". And guess what a friend brought to my attention....

They've added another bar to our journals? Personally, I don't find this necessary but they are going to be using it on the Friends Page for filtering. And YAY the filtering is back to being in order. I can see this bar having... TAGS, PROFILE, MEMORIES, ETC on it.... we'll see.

But after all that work. Look at my friends page:

In case you can't tell it is overlapping my headerimage on my friends page. Not cool.

I've reported this to LJ so hopefully we will get a response and some resolution. I'll keep you all posted.

I loathe this new nav bar. Can I hide it?

Right now, I don't think so. We used to have the ability and it appears we do not any more. I can almost understand this for regular users but even PAID users like Stan Lee (Spider-Man and other Marvel movies and comics) now have the bar on what is official sites that happen to be hosted with LJ.

Question about the navbar. Mine sits weird on my friends page, and I can't figure out where in the css to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Try removing:
.lj-view-friends { margin-top: -25px; }

this is at the bottom of your coding.

i don't know if you have resolved this, but i added 25px of padding to the content and it dropped down a little bit. you'd have to play with it, like i did, but that's what i've discovered.

This does work well if you do not have a headerimage but if you do it won't.

Adding padding to the content will definitely create the padding between everything below the header image and the top (or whatever is above it).

When you have a header image you would need to add a bigger margin-top to the headerimage section. If I add 25px to my headerimage my Friends Page will look just like my Journal page except now that I've done that my main page is even lower because the issues lies in LJ's coding.

So basically, without a headerimage a content padding-top will definitely work.

With a header image... LJ messed things up.
