This community is to help me and others find ways to make their journals look how we want them too.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert at messing with layouts though I have figured out a lot about Flexible Squares. If you have a question please feel free to ask me by commenting below.

Couple Rules:

1. And example of your problem or what you want done to your journal.
2. Sometimes it can take me a little while to find the information asked for, so please be patient.
3. I don't do slash-y type things (ie headers). I can still provide you with a layout but then header would have to come from somewhere else.
4. I'm not currently taking requests for requests but I'm more than willing to help you figure out problems with coding.

LJ is dropping the ball a little and so community moderators aren't getting their comments. So if you don't hear back from me in a few days head over HERE to let me know if you need any help.

Hello! I'm new here in lj so I still suck at these things :(

I just want to ask how can you place an lj user in the sidebar, like for example, I want to credit the lj user for making my layout :)

Where did you grab this image from? I would love to go to the journal and see it and possibly look at their coding (which I can figure out on my own).

Change the coding in your layout below. This should enable lj user names to work in the free text or blurb section of the sidebar.

/* sidebar */ div#sidebar a, div#sidebar a:link, div#sidebar a:visited{ color:; display: inherit; padding: 2px 5px 3px 2px; } div#sidebar a:hover { color:; }

How do you insert an lj username in the blurb? Is there a sign or something? :(

Start by using this tutorial.

Then when you are in the sidebar options there is a Blurb box. You would put this coding (just change the username or community name:
<user site="livejournal.com" user="layout_lounge">
