Friends Page or Friends Feed

So this is all a matter of opinion. Some of you hate the Friends Feed and some of you prefer it. You might even be like me and are indifferent to it. It has it's uses but you like seeing your journal when you are going through friend posts.

Friends Page - Friends Feed
THEY TOOK AWAY SWITCH BACK so now we have to do it
Tell them your accounts name and that you are seeing the Friends Feed rather than the Friends Page when you click on your friends link. They should be able to reset this for you considering this Support Request.
But if you were like me and you kept your friends page (never switching or never being switched), you might want the Friends Feed to be what you see when you click the FRIENDS link on your journal's navbar (this is unlike me). There is a solution which is likely to work (I'd like anyone trying it to tell me if it works as I didn't click on it to test it).

Friends Page - Friends Feed
The most popular question is how to get rid of the Friends Feed. Which I explain over HERE. The easiest way to accomplish this is to Click on the thought bubble/cloud submit feedback under the Redesign section.

If you go to the Friends Feed (http://YOURUSERNAMEHERE.livejournal.com/feed/) you will see at the top a message:

As you can see this tells me I'm currently viewing the NEW version of the Friends Page which is actually the Friends Feed. And if I would like to make it my default (replace my current view of the Friends Page with the Friends Feed) then I should click as it says. So if you want to have the Friends Feed be what you see when clicking the FRIENDS link on your navbar, you should click this link. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU WISH TO REPLACE THE FRIENDS PAGE WITH THE FRIENDS FEED.
Should this not work; I would suggest going to the Support area, find the Redesign Section, and post a request to have your account (supply your username) updated to have the new friends feed rather than the old friends page.
If you are like me and don't mind having a link to the Feed but don't want it to be your Friends Page the url to find it is http://YOURUSERNAMEHERE.livejournal.com/feed/. I go to it periodically or have it come up so I can see what is happening on the apps added to the sides. Otherwise I don't use it that often.
I hope this helps you and that your journal is exactly how you want it to be.

Date: 2015-02-21 05:49 pm (UTC)So... can we use both friends feed and friends page, if we don't choose the feed by default? I'm using my regular friends page, which I prefer; but sometimes I've wondered about the feed's apps and tools. I'd like to try it to organize my f-list, but without giving up my regular friends page. Is it possible? Could I customize my friends feed, even if I don't use it by default?
Thanks again for the info! :)

Date: 2015-02-27 09:40 pm (UTC)For me when I click my friends link on my journal it takes me to the Friends Page which looks like my journal. Then I have a bookmark (or put it in your links list on your sidebar) of the Friends feed. So long as you don't click that "USE BY DEFAULT" link they provide at the top of the Feed you should be good.
And you can go into your customizations and put in a background and change the coloring without it defaulting to that. I've done it. Just be careful what you click on and you should be okay.
