So, I figured this out pretty quickly but it has come to my attention that I'm just geared to think like a developer and designer and not necessarily like a users. Which means LJ (my too sometimes) made the stupid move of making things harder on us but have no fear. Your links to updating your userpics or going to your memories aren't gone they are just hard to find.

1. Go to your profile. You are going to see some useless information. We are looking for Statistics on the right.
 photo profile01.png

photo profile02.png2. Under Statistics there are a lot of things that may or may not make sense to you. The first thing is the number of Journal Entries you've made, then comments you've posted, comments made to you. And then the important links come in.

Journal Entries will simply take you back to your journal.

Tags will take you to your tags page.

Memories will take you to your memories.

Photos will take you to your Scrapbook.

V-Gifts will take you to a page of all you v-gifts which I don't love. I miss some of them being on my profile.

Userpics does take you to your userpics but doesn't take you into editing them.

3. Instead your Userpic link will take you to this familiar page. You have the edit userpics at the top of this...

4. Which take you here.

5. Some have told me they don't actually have these statistics on their page and therefore have no links which I find insanely strange and I recommend going to that cloud on the new LJ bar and submitting feedback which tells LJ this. In the meantime a few links to help you out. I recommend making bookmarks for these.

LJ LINKS
Scrapbook: http://YOUR-USER-NAME.livejournal.com/pics/catalog
Memories: http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=YOUR-USER-NAME
Edit Userpics: http://www.livejournal.com/editpics.bml
Birthdays: http://www.livejournal.com/birthdays.bml

If you think of any other links I've forgotten please comment and I'll add them!

A useful tip for submitting Support Requests: screenshots are enormously helpful. It doesn't do you or the volunteer trying to help you any good if you first have to spend a couple days talking past each other about what you do/should see.

I'm sure that'd be very useful but I have no idea HOW to take a screen shot. Call me stupid but I know nothing about computers and just get super annoyed when things I used to understand and that worked just fine, get messed up 'cause someone decides they need to make it "better". No, not better, just harder to work with for us stupid people.

How do you take a screen shot? I need to show them none of this stuff is actually there - my stats are a blank screen.

This website (http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/) gives instructions for all the major computing platforms. After you have your screenshot you'll need to upload it somewhere on the web, like Scrapbook or Tinypic or Photobucket.

Thank you, I'll give it a try. And sorry for the ranting there - you didn't deserve me being snarky. I was just in a bad mood and getting frustrated with LJ.

Thanks so much for the help!

Hey, I'm older than BOTH of you. By a decade ... so you're both young still. :D

:D I didn't mean it like we're OLD, I just really thought I was older :D But we're all still young! No one can take that away from us! I climbed trees on vacation and built a sand castle! :D

Depends on how high the roof is... but mostly, I'd say no too :D
Though I always loved the parts where people sat on the roofs outside their windows, but those aren't the kind of houses we have over here :D

Yeah, unfortunately none of this helps me find what isn't there. IF I can figure out how to report it to LJ I will.

I did thank you, and saved the links. Kirsten suggested I try going back to the old style journal to see if that would help so I did and everything's back where it used to be and all makes sense again. I think I'll stay with that for now but if I want to switch back to the new I'll let you know and get your help to make sure it works. *hugs*. Thanks for being such a great help!

I'd recommend still submitting a bug report to Support. Eventually (two to four months is my guess) the new design will be the only design, and it'll be better for you if whatever is causing this problem now is fixed by then.

Welcome to the Lounge. Our tutorials are saved here. These are currently all for LJ and Flexible Squares. Should you have general questions about us check out our FAQ. I do NOT customize layouts for individuals.

    Layout Change Quick Guide
If you like Flexible Squares, I have tons of layouts for you, and still create them.

I've been creating Layouts for DW's Bannering. Here's how to use them:
1. Go to Transmogrified Layouts.
2. Choose Basic.
3. Go to Custom CSS.
4. Make sure all boxes are unchecked
5. Copy Coding to Stylesheet Box.
6. Make sure to update with your own images/image urls. Imgur images are okay to be used.
7.Click Save.
