This community is to help me and others find ways to make their journals look how we want them too.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert at messing with layouts though I have figured out a lot about Flexible Squares. If you have a question please feel free to ask me by commenting below.

Couple Rules:

1. And example of your problem or what you want done to your journal.
2. Sometimes it can take me a little while to find the information asked for, so please be patient.
3. I don't do slash-y type things (ie headers). I can still provide you with a layout but then header would have to come from somewhere else.

LJ is dropping the ball a little and so community moderators aren't getting their comments. So if you don't hear back from me in a few days head over HERE to let me know if you need any help.

Hi,I was wondering if I could request a layout and header for my LJ. I would like something similar to my profile layout. Something really simple. It does need a sidebar(on the right if possible due to my vision). The fonts I like on the small side,but readable. If it could be basic colors like gray,green(like grass green) and blue(sky) it would be much appreciate. Something restful for the eyes. Thank you in advance.

You can. I have been a little antsy and wanting to create so this is perfect and I love your profile layout. It is so understated. I also love the grass. So pretty. What a great inspiration. I will see what I can come up with.

The color scheme sounds great too.

Check out workshop_rees. Let me know what you like and don't like. Look at the tags that are marked preview as they will give you different things you might use that have been coded for.

I love it! Just two questions. Is it possible to switch the sidebar to the right? I don't know if that would be too hard.Also, is it possible to make the green a bit darker? Maybe something similar to the green in my user icon.

If this is too much to ask, you can tell me to shove off.

Edit: One other thing. Can the title font for posts just be similiar to what it is now. Black/gray is easier for my eyes for some reason.

I can switch the sidebar pretty easily.

I'm going to darken the green.

I can't see what your post subjects look like now because you have no public posts. But I can make them darker. Do you want me to use a simpler font for the subject or is the one up there fine?

I put up a simpler font that is still a little more decorative. But you might not be able to see it unless you have them on your computer so I'll send you to look at them and see if they are okay for you to read and you can DL them if you want.

Also I can just do something simple like Arial... I just wanted to give you something a little fancy without being unreadable.

I have a couple more things and then it will be perfect. Can the border around the post and the dotted line under the title not be? I know..I'm be being picky. For some reason too many lines are hard on my eyes. I'm sorry to be such a pain in the ass. Kind of like how my LJ is now. It's a bit free flowing,if you know what I mean.

I have noticed the blurb comes up strangely. I don't know what that is about. It is probably because it has a different title field in the sidebar settings. I don't think there is anything I can do about it but I will look.

There was one other thing. I'm really sorry. I was wondering what area in the layout code I need to go to to make the gray board/background around the icon transparent/white. I doesn't look right on my friends page.

I got everything else how I wanted it.

Done. The coding over in the post at the Workshop (workshop_rees) has been update to include these changes and the font for your subject is corrected to what you had too.
