This community is to help me and others find ways to make their journals look how we want them too.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert at messing with layouts though I have figured out a lot about Flexible Squares. If you have a question please feel free to ask me by commenting below.

Couple Rules:

1. And example of your problem or what you want done to your journal.
2. Sometimes it can take me a little while to find the information asked for, so please be patient.
3. I don't do slash-y type things (ie headers). I can still provide you with a layout but then header would have to come from somewhere else.

Hi, I tried to do the Colorful Chuck layout. I customized it a bit by changing the colors to fit my header and tried to add some tiny icons. It seemed to be working but now, when I go to my home page, I get frequent running style errors. I've never done this before. Can you help me figure out what I did wrong? Thank you.

So far I haven't seen what the issue is but I did manage to fix the default picture but I also noticed your tiny icons aren't coming up which might mean the linking from the scrapbook might not work for that. You might try TinyPic.com or PhotoBucket.com.

You can see the changes I made to the layout over at workshop_rees. I'll make a post with the updated coding.

I couldn't get the tiny icons to work. They kept defaulting to the regular LJ icons, or both would show up, or multiples of both would show up so I deleted them from the coding.

I think the main problem was Live Journal and the overloaded servers. I just happened to change the layout at a bad time.

You are welcome. I'm sorry we couldn't get the tiny icons to work. I've never had a problem and in fact I'm using that layout now without issue. Strange. Maybe the icons are bigger or smaller than the dimensions give in the coding? I've been using icons that can be found in this group on the sidebar link.

It's fixed! There was a stray bit of code interfering. Once I deleted it, the default tiny pics went away. Thank you!

Where was that stray bit of code?

It was right above the tiny user icon section and just below the private entry section. Here's the code:

padding: 16px 0px 0 16px;
}

Once I deleted it, the default tiny icons went away. It's not in the original coding for Colorful Chuck so I must have done something to the coding when I was C/P my URLs in there the first time. It's been so long since I did any coding that I didn't even notice when I messed it up. Sorry for all the trouble and thank you for fixing my mistakes.

I moved the tiny pics to PhotoBucket but now both the default one and the new ones are showing up. I can't seem to get the default ones to go away. Here's the coding that I'm using:
