So I'm not seeing underlining. The problem might lie with your browser. If you are using Firefox... this is how to turn that off (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/947189).

As for the transparency. The sidebar is transparent but the background makes it hard to see it. You could go to the sidebar section of your coding:

This is the line you'd change
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7);

Maybe go to:
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
