Images for Beginners

You want to put images on your LiveJournal but you don't know how? Quick Tutorial.

1. Usually putting an image on your LiveJournal means you need a internet based image storage account. This is easier than it sounds. You can get free accounts from PhotoBucket.com or ImageShack.com. You can also have a scrapebook through LJ and while it is a nice thing to have it is sometimes a little more complicated than one of the storage sights.

2. Upload all images to the storage account you've made. Most of these places are going to give you a direct image link. This is the link you want to copy so you can add it to your post.

3. In Post An Entry you will see in the Rich Text option of writing that there is a editing bar above your typing. On this bar there is an icon that when scrolled over says "Insert/Edit Image". You will click on that.

4. The Image Properties Window will open and you will paste the direct link you copied into the URL field. Then in the height and width you can adjust it to be smaller than the actual image if you feel this is necessary. Buy clicking the circular arrow you can get the dimensions the image is currently.

5. You will then hit okay (or hit enter when in a field) and the image will be inserted where ever your cursor was at the time you started. You should be able to move this image around as you like.
