Please read these frequently asked questions before asking your question. Questions will be added as they are asked.

G E N E R A L

1. Can I change the header on one of your layouts?
Yes, I usually just us a header for the example or to help me make the layout. You can use any layout you wish.

2. Can I share your layouts with others?
You can direct people to this community and tell anyone you found your layout here.

3. What if I like a layout but I want something to be changed?
If you are able to change something, such as the link colors, go for it. I also have coding you can add to your layouts. If you are unsure how to change something ask for my help in the layouts post. I'm more than willing to help you out.

4. At the bottom of your Layouts it says "No Hotlinking Images," what does that mean?
Hotlinking is basically when you use my images link so that you aren't storing the image in your own PhotoBucket or Image Storage place online. Many of you don't realize you are doing something that is rather taboo online which is fine. I just ask that you stop doing it once it is realized. The reason this is a problem is that places like PhotoBucket only give us so much bandwidth to display our images and artwork. So if you use it all up because you've got tons of people visiting your journal, my account at PhotoBucket can be turned off for a time causing me and people looking for icons and layouts at lot of problems.

5. Do you have banners so I can advertise for this group?

1. I'm having trouble changing my layout. I am inserting the code but the header isn't coming up.
This is probably because the code you are using doesn't actually have the header image code in it. You are supposed to save the header in your PhotoBucket (or other image place) and insert the direct link on your own.

2. I have inserted the header image link but my image is coming up smaller than it should.
See Trouble with the Header.

3. I want to use one of your layouts but I'm currently using something other than Flexible Squares. How do I make the change?
Check out Theme and Layout Change for Beginners.

4. How do I change the titles on my Header or things like what my comment links say?
Go to the Text Section of Customize Layout Theme. You will see all the different titles you can change. For Sidebar component title changes, go to the Sidebar Section.

5. How do I customize which elements are on my sidebar and in what order? Also how do I change the titles of the elements?
To change the components on your sidebar or to change the titles for the sidebar components go to the Sidebar Section. You will find a tutorial here for further help.

C O M M E N T S

1. I'm not getting notifications of comments to my entries on my journal or on communities. What is wrong?
With changes LJ has made many of our settings have been turned off. Go to My Account Settings to makes sure all your notifications are turned on. If they are and you are still not receiving your notifications please go to LJ Support and open a support request with LJ.

The link on your link list is fine. Usually people add it to their Friends post or their profile but as long as there is a link back it works.

Hi, I want to make my own layout and I was looking through the net if there were any templates of it, and I found none. I was wondering if you I may ask if you have any template of it? Or even the IDs and Classes from the CSS layout?

Is there a way to create a tiered look to the tags list?

You can create a header if you want. As long as it has the community name I'm happy.

Layout 77 is Marginal and doesn't really have a header image. I don't really create them for people unless it is just a straight text header image like I have at the top of this comm (the turquoise is just a background image).

I just wondered if you had an image you wanted to use as the header or if I should just go with what you have.

And 88 is really different from 77. Okay. Wow. Makes this a little harder.

Let me see how inspired I get.

I'm sorry I don't want you to give your problems since you doing this HUGE things for us.

You can use the fonts I like and use whatever layout you like. Whatever inspire you.

I know I always bug you, but I do LOVE your layouts.

At camelot_drabble we usually have a chirstmasy layout starting Dec 1st for the holiday fic exchange fest and a new one for the new year. We have been using the same holiday layout for 3 years and I was wondering if you have time to create us two layout. One for christmas and one for the rest of the year. If you can only do one, the holiday one.

You have free range to do what you please as far as color etc. I'm fid as long as the header has the community name.

Okay so I can customize one for a holiday layout but that is about all the extra time I have.

And do you want me to just make the current layout Christmas-y because I can't be sure I have the time to make once completely from scratch, which I hate to say but I've got so much going on.

Hi, I wonder if you could help me out - I am looking for a new layout for sgnovelreview something wider than the current one in flexible squares. Any chance you can make something for me?

I'd like a sidebar on the left, user icon on the right, floating off the side and still square. The main text area needs to be most of the space, white background and black/dark gray text and the title needs to stand out.

Colours I'm thinking blues and blacks, but it needs to represent the whole show (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis & Stargate Universe (if I must))

I love what you have with the current background design on here, the leaves here only with these two images: http://brightstyles.co.uk/SGNovel/sg1gate.png, http://brightstyles.co.uk/SGNovel/sgagate.png (I made them the same size as your leaves)

I don't have a new header, but I am looking to get one - just have to work on it.

Hi!

I was wondering if you can create a layout around a header that was gifted to me. I've try to edit one of yours (your layouts are the only one I use) but I always end up messing it up. I have the header but like my life i cant matched anything to save myself.
